Marcus Tran is an emerging writer, director and editor working on Gadigal land.

Since graduating from AFTRS in 2023, Marcus was selected for the SBS Australia Talent Escalator program at Mint Pictures and was an attachment for Dreamchaser Studios. An Assistant Editor for Great Australian Walks S2 (SBS), Marcus became an Assembly Editor for The Role of a Lifetime (ABC), and an Editor for its web series Chip Chat (ABC iView - YouTube). Most recently, Marcus worked in the editorial department for a 20th Century / Disney feature film.

As an emerging writer and director, Marcus is currently developing short dramas and series about queer and cross-cultural experiences. His AFTRS capstone short film One Note Away is entering festival distribution and his queer romance short Bridges is in further development as a web series. Previously, he wrote and shot the short documentaries Lockdown Locals and Finding Home for SBS OnDemand, and directed commercials for DEJA VU.

He also has a strong online audience with video essays that have garnered him millions of views and over fifty thousand followers.
